Citron-crested Cockatoos Enamel Pin

Regular price $17.00

The Citron-crested cockatoo is a critically endangered medium-sized cockatoo native to the tropical forests of Sumba, which is located in the Lesser Sunda Islands in Indonesia. These cockatoos are a sub species of the lesser Sulphur-crested cockatoo, however what sets it apart from other yellow-crested cockatoos is that their crest is a more orangey yellow colour. These guys are popular pets, however due to illegal bird trapping and trading as well as habitat loss, It is estimated there are only around 560 left in the wild.

We perched this pair on Moon orchids (anggrek bulan), which are one of the national flowers of indonesia. The type we used is a colour mutation, the original flower is white.
