Australian Raven Enamel Pin

The Australian Raven (Corvus coronoides) is a native passerine corvid known for their striking appearance and distinctive loud call. These beautiful birds are primarily covered in jet-black feathers with a glossy shine that often shows as purple in the sunlight. Every Australian in one way or another is familiar with their distinctive call, a loud, high-ending series of cackles (ah-ah-ah-ahhhhhh) that drops into a long, mournful wail.

We really wanted to show off the natural glossy shine with these pins and paired the Raven with the native Cootamundra wattle to emphasise that purple colour.

Fun Fact: The Australian Raven and the Australian crow are so similar in appearance that it can often be difficult to visually distinguish them. The most reliable physical difference is the raven's shaggy “beard” feathers under its throat.
