The Crowned Eagle is Africa's most powerful raptor and known for its hunting power and beautiful plumage. Despite their power, they only just make it into the list of Africa's biggest eagles.
These beautiful eagles are found throughout native tropical forests within Africa but are at threat due to large scale deforestation. Due to their size and potential for taking small livestock; they are often shot or trapped by farmers.
Did you know? These powerful Eagles can pursue prey at 160 kilometers per hour and then come to a complete stop within just a few meters. They also have the power to bring down Antelope seven times their own body-weight.
