Gouldian Finch Hard Enamel Pin

The Gouldian Finch, also known as the Rainbow Finch, is a small, dazzlingly colourful finch native to the tropical savannah woodlands of the Kimberley and the Northern Territory. Once widespread across northern Australia, their numbers have crashed to only around 2,500 breeding adults, and they’re now listed as endangered. Their decline is linked to changed fire patterns, cattle grazing and other land use, and feral predators, especially cats.

Fun fact: Gouldians come in natural colour variations in the wild. Around 70 to 80% have black faces, 20 to 30% have red faces, and very rarely, a gold or orange-faced finch turns up too.
