The Indian Ringneck, also known as the Ring-necked parakeet and the Rose-ringed parakeet, is a medium sized parakeet found across the Indian subcontinent as well as the African continent. These parrots are Inquisitive by nature and have a playful attituded along with excellent speech mimicking abilities. Ring-necked parakeets come in a variety of colour mutations making them very popular as pets. Females and males will look similar until the male develops a ring at around 18 months of age.

Fun Fact: Ring-necked parakeets are considered an invasive species in many parts of the world having feral colonies in places such as South Africa, Japan, the United States, Belgium, France, Germany, Greece, Italy, the Netherlands, Portugal, Spain, Turkey, the UK and Australia to name a few.
