Long billed corellas are medium sized white cockatoos native to grassy woodlands and grasslands of Eastern Australia. They display large blue eye rings, a reddish-pink face and forehead with a red throat band, They also exhibit a long, pale beak, which is used to dig for roots and seeds. Visually there is little difference between males and females.
We perched these cockatoos on golden penda (Xanthostemon chrysanthus) which is endemic to north eastern Queensland and a popular backyard tree in Aus due to its stunning flowers.
