Sulphur-crested Cockatoos Enamel Pin

Regular price $17.00

The Sulphur-crested cockatoo is a large white cockatoo found in wooded habitats in Australia, New Guinea, and some of the islands of Indonesia. There are actually 4 nominate species of Sulphur-crested cockatoo, however for this design we focused specifically on the Greater Sulphur-crested cockatoo which has a native range from Cape York all the way down to Tasmania. These cockatoos have a white plumage with yellowing on the under wing and tail, and as their name suggests, they have a large crest compiled of yellow feathers. The only visual difference between males and females is that males have almost black eyes whereas females have dark brown / reddish eyes.

We perched this pair on a Bottle brush tree (Melaleuca citrina) which is Endemic to eastern Australia and enjoyed by many birds.
