A protected species in Australia, the Wedge-tailed Eagle is still shot and poisoned by farmers and are at threat of habitat loss due to tree-clearing. They are also considered endangered in Tasmania.

Did you know? The Wedge-tailed Eagle gets darker with age. Young eagles will have light brown feathers while the old adults can have almost black feathers.
