Carnaby’s / Short-billed Black Cockatoos Enamel Pin
OUR STORE IS CLOSED UNTIL 17th MARCH 2025. CHECKOUT HAS BEEN DISABLED.
The Carnaby's black cockatoo, also known as the short-billed black cockatoo, is a large endangered black cockatoo endemic to the southern most part of Western Australia. These guys exhibit a unique scalloping pattern as the very tips of most of their greyish black feathers are white /cream. They have short crests and also display a cream cheek patch as well as a large cream band in their tail. Males have pink eye rings and dark grey beaks whereas females have mid grey eye rings and bone coloured beaks.
We perched this pair on Flame Grevillea (Grevillea excelsior) which is also native to the same region of Western Australia.
