Grey Butcherbird Enamel Pin

Regular price $16.00

The Grey Butcherbird (Cracticus torquatus) is a medium-sized songbird found across most of Australia. The Grey Butcherbird is known for it's black hooked tip beak and its dark grey or black tail with white tips. These intelligent hunters can be commonly found in eucalyptus forests, suburban gardens, and parks. We perched the Butcherbird on a Red Flowing Gum (Corymbia ficifolia), a small tree endemic to the south-west of Western Australia.

Fun Fact: The Butcherbird gets its name from its habit of storing food by emapling prey such as insects, lizards, and small birds on sharp twigs, thorns, or in tree forks. The behaviour resembles a butcher hanging meat.
